What is Rent Benefit?
Housing Benefits, also known as Huurtoeslag, is a rent subsidy the Dutch government offers to help you cover your rental costs. This benefit is extremely helpful for students as it will cover some of the costs for your rent.
Am I Eligible for the Rent Benefit?
Do you have any questions about eligibility? You are eligible for housing allowance, provided you meet the following requirements:

You must be at least eighteen.

You legally reside in The Netherlands (the library does not count as legal residence).

Your rented home contains a separate bedroom, kitchen, and toilet (it is an independent unit).

Your annual income, savings, and rent do not exceed the limit imposed by Dutch tax authorities.
