Are you searching for places to study in Nijmegen? We have a list of the best off-campus spots for you.
Public Library
If you are searching for a quiet place to study ”Bibliotheek de Mariënburg” is the place to be. A big plus is that you have access to computers and you can also print for free. The opening hours during weekdays are usually from 9 am to 6 pm, apart from Thursday where it is open until 9 pm. Check out their website for more details.
Hotel Credible
Hotel Credible is a great spot for those who want to study in a chill atmosphere. Furthermore, you can find great spots to study with a group, but also for studying on your own. During the week it is open from 7 am until midnight.
Bhalu
Bhalu has a living room atmosphere. Therefore, we think this is one of the best spots in Nijmegen to work on group projects or to study with others. Furthermore, you will find vegan foods and drinks as well as yoga classes in case you want to be active. On Monday’s and Tuesday’s Bhalu is open from 9 am until 5 pm and the rest of the week from 9/10 am until 10 pm.
Fika
Fika is a café with a flexible work room. It is especially designated to work and study there. You can stop by Monday to Friday from 9 am to 6 pm. No reservation is needed.
The lobby
Another place with a designated studying/working area is The Lobby. In the basement you will find plenty of space to study in silence. Moreover, you can place your order with a QR code, so you don’t have to go upstairs into the café each time. It is open daily from 9 am until 5 pm.
Balthazar (cat café)
Do you love cats? Then Balthazar is your place to be! You can study there while being surrounded by seven cats. They hopefully won’t distract you too much, but it is nice to have them around as mental support.
Coffeelab
For those who are searching for a place close to the central station, we recommend Coffeelab. If you walk outside the station it is just across from it on the right. Their opening hours are 9/10 am until 6 pm.
We hope that you will find your ideal study spot off-campus. Once you have more free time after your exam period, we recommend you to check out our blog on indoor activities in Nijmegen.
