The company is a family owned business that has been baking and packaging delicious bakery products for 125 years. Every day, their bread products are delivered to 900 shops, including Albert Heijn, the largest supermarket chain in the Netherlands. Job description

As a production employee, your main role will include:

  • Order picking: You'll be working with trolleys full of different baked goods, placing them under the correct name displayed on the screen above you. Using a touch screen, you'll follow the order details and pick the correct products, making sure for accuracy and efficiency.
  • Team collaboration: You will work closely with your colleagues in a line, picking items based on the order information on the screen. Teamwork is essential, and together, you'll keep things moving smoothly and quickly. 
  • Packaging: After picking the items, you'll place them carefully into the Albert Heijn bags, making sure the products are in perfect condition and ready for delivery. 

The company offers a great opportunity to start in production, with many opportunities for growth and the possibility to explore different departments, such as slicing, baking, labeling, etc. You'll always be working with a team in a fast-paced environment, making sure that fresh products get delivered on time to Albert Heijn and online customers. This position requires night shifts, so you'll need to be comfortable working late hours and being a "night owl." The bonus? Night shifts come with extra allowances, making it a great opportunity to pocket extra cash working part-time. 

Job requirements

  • You are available as soon as possible.
  • You are motivated, accurate, flexible, and have a proactive attitude.
  • You have a positive and team-spirited attitude.
  • Comfortable being a night owl and working night shifts.
  • You are available to work at least two night shifts: one on Saturday (Friday night to Saturday morning, from 00:30 to 08:30) and another during the week, preferably on Mondays (Sunday night to Monday morning, from 00:30 to 08:30).
  • Available for at least 1 year, preferably longer.
  • You are an open-minded person and think in solutions.
  • Willingness to learn all the ins and outs of bread and pastry products.
  • You are available at least 16-24 hours per week.
  • Living in or around Arnhem.

Hours & salary

You are expected to work night shifts from 00:30 to 08:30. These shifts include one on Saturday (Friday night to Saturday morning) and another during the week, preferably on Monday (Sunday night to Monday morning). Additionally, there is the possibility to work a Saturday shift from 14:00 to 22:00, but night shifts will still be required as well. The schedule is planned in advance, so you can provide your availability and know your work hours ahead of time.

Salary (including 134% allowance per hour):

21+:          €19.78 per hour
20:            €15.82 per hour
19:            €12.67  per hour
18:            €10.93 per hour

00.00-06:00 (Monday-Saturday): 134% allowance.
06:00-18:00 on Saturdays: 134% allowance.
18:00-24:00 on Saturdays: 200% allowance.
18:00-24:00 (Monday-Friday): 134% allowance.
Sundays: 200% allowance. 

The company offers you the option to take home overproduction (bakery products) for 5€ per month.

You will be provided with working clothes from the company.

You will receive €0.19 per km for travel reimbursement from 7 km onwards with a maximum of 30 km.

How do international students apply for DUO?

You can apply for student finance on the website of Mijn DUO. Check which documents you need to apply. Send them under ‘Documentary evidence for EU/EEA citizens, UK citizens, and Swiss’. Within 6 to 8 weeks after applying you will receive a letter.
